PROGRAM GOALS
The Accelerated Program is specifically designed for students who are academically capable of completing grades seven, eight, nine, and ten in Mathematics and/or Science in a student’s junior high years. It provides students with the opportunity to pursue Math 10 Common and/or Science 10 in junior high school and earn high school credits. Course requirements are rigorous, and students are commonly required to spend more time working outside of class, than those students in the regular program.
CONTINUATION IN THE PROGRAM
Student performance and program recommendations will be reviewed regularly. In order to ensure a student meets the Program of Studies learning requirements, any decision to have a student discontinue in the program will be made at the end of the school year.
Students are only eligible to enter the program in the grade 7 year due to the organization and delivery of curricular outcomes.
REMOVAL FROM THE PROGRAM(S)
Students exhibiting behavior detrimental to their progress or the progress of other students may be required to move from the Accelerated Math and Accelerated Science Program to the regular program.
